The artist is depicting the (recurring) faceless lady who appears to be giving birth fully nude, in an attempt to reconnect with nature in her beautiful moment. The artist captures her imperfections (lumpy thighs, thick heels) and shows us that the
regular woman is indeed the most beautiful. He cleverly toys with perspective by bringing her breast both behind and in front of her knee, adding movement and giving her a sense of unrest in anticipation.
